Surfer, Love Island star and all-round thrill seeker, Laura Crane, is taking part in Rainbow Trust’s ‘Skydive 35’ campaign and will be taking to the skies for a tandem parachute jump on Thursday 2 June to mark the charity’s 35th anniversary since it first started supporting families with a seriously ill child.

Rainbow Trust is celebrating its 35th year throughout 2022 and to mark the occasion it has launched ‘Skydive 35’ – to recruit 35 brave skydivers to jump between 6-12 June 2022.

Laura, 27, says;

"I am so excited to be taking part in Skydive 35 for Rainbow Trust. The charity does such fantastic work supporting families who have a very ill child. I encourage anyone who has ever considered doing a skydive, but hasn’t quite been brave enough, to sign up now!"

"Join me in pushing myself out of my comfort zone but with a massive sense of achievement knowing that I’m jumping for such a worthwhile cause."

Rainbow Trust supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. When a child has a serious illness, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, whenever they need it, for as long as is needed.

The COVID-19 pandemic piled further unimaginable pressure onto these parents and children, and the charity’s Family Support Workers continue to provide a lifeline to them.

Oonagh Goodman, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Rainbow Trust, says;

"We are over the moon that Laura has agreed to take part in Skydive 35 for Rainbow Trust. I have no doubt that her energy and enthusiasm will encourage others to take part and experience the adrenalin rush of free falling at 125mph from 10,000 feet above ground!"

"All the money raised from the Skydive 35 campaign will enable families with a seriously ill child to make the most of the precious time they have together."

Anyone wanting to take the leap for Rainbow Trust can book their skydive via our website. Jumpers can choose from a wide range of airfields across the UK and if participants can't make the jump between 6-12 June, they can book a skydive on a day of their choice instead!
