Every year, The Stewarts Foundation donates to a charity voted for by Stewarts’ employees. This year, Rainbow Trust has been selected, helping to ensure that families caring for a child with a serious illness, continue to receive the practical and emotional support that they so desperately need.
Their donation will fund a Family Support Worker for a year, who will support up to 25 families at any one time.
To kick off the partnership, Stewarts’ employees took part in a 40k Challenge throughout January, marking Rainbow Trust’s 40th anniversary. The initiative was met with huge enthusiasm, with 80 colleagues taking part.
Stewarts’ Managing Partner, Stuart Dench, said:
"Rainbow Trust’s work is crucial. The pressures facing families whose child is living with a life-threatening or terminal illness are immense and the current economic climate is making those challenges even harder to navigate.
At Stewarts, we are committed to supporting Rainbow Trust as it continues to provide the specialist care that families affected by serious illness rely on. We have already marked the charity’s 40th Anniversary, with 80 colleagues taking part in a 40k Challenge, and I look forward to our continued fundraising efforts throughout the year."
Katherine Burgess, Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager at Rainbow Trust, said:
"Rainbow Trust relies on support from businesses who operate in the communities we work in, and we are so grateful to Stewarts for choosing to support us and for the very generous donation.
We are impressed with the genuine enthusiasm from employees at Stewarts who are already making a difference. We had a great time meeting the team at an internal launch event earlier this month!
Most importantly, I am really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together to help ensure families with a seriously ill child can continue to receive the crucial support they so desperately need. Thank you, Stewarts.
