Paul and Chris Osment, local brothers from Surrey, are taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon together on 11 October 2015 in order to raise much needed funds so we can continue to support families, including siblings, when they need us most.

“Running the Royal Parks for Rainbow Trust with my brother is going to be a great experience. We have always been very close and the support from our family, the crowds and the Rainbow Trust team will really help drive us on to the finish line. Raising money for such a fantastic cause with your brother brings you even closer and crossing the finish line together will be a fantastic feeling.” Paul Osment

We offer emotional and practical support for the whole family including siblings. Our Family Support Workers spend time with the brothers or sisters, giving them respite from their less than normal lives. Our Family Support Workers also run sibling groups, giving them the opportunity to spend time with others in similar situations. This helps children feel less isolated and gives them a chance to talk openly about their experiences.

The Royal Parks is one of London’s most popular half marathons and one of our most successful running events. The scenic course takes you through four of the capital’s iconic Royal Parks, with a spectacular start and finish in Hyde Park. Our Events team and fabulous volunteers will be there on the day to cheer on Chris and Paul and the rest of #TeamRainbowTrust as they make their way around the course in their professional running vests and brightly coloured ‘rainbow hair’ and will be there to congratulate them afterwards with well-deserved refreshments and a massage!

Emma Haines, Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Rainbow Trust says:

“It’s down to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to continue raising vital funds to support families in need. We’d like to thank all our runners, like Paul and Chris, for helping us raise awareness of the work Rainbow Trust does.”

We still have spaces in this fantastic event – if you would like to join our inspirational team, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us on 01372 220022 or email [email protected] and sign up before 21 August.
