My name is Isabelle, and I’m a Year 12 A‑Level student at Wallington High School for Girls. I chose to do my work experience with Rainbow Trust because I’ve always been inspired by the meaningful impact the charity has on families facing incredibly tough challenges across the UK. It was clear to me how much their support helps to ease some of the pressures families experience every day.

During my placement, I had the chance to explore a wide range of departments — from advertising to finance — which gave me a real insight into how the charity operates behind the scenes. Being based at head office meant I was able to get involved in lots of different administrative tasks. I also had the opportunity to sit in on corporate meetings and speak with several members of staff, who were all so kind in explaining their roles and sharing stories about the families Rainbow Trust has supported.

The week genuinely exceeded my expectations. I’ve come away with a strong understanding of the charity’s work, how it is run, and the incredible difference it makes to families. It was a truly rewarding experience.
