Attention all families - if you’re stuck for ideas to occupy your kids over the summer holidays then come along to ‘Colour5k’, the new fun run in Dorking, Surrey on Saturday 18 July 2015
The day includes a 5k run for over 16s or a fun 1k course for those aged 6-16. There is also a number of family-friendly activities going on throughout the day for all ages including cake decorating, face painting and a bouncy castle.
Runners of the 5k will be given a Colour5K white t-shirt and at each kilometre of the run they will be showered with a different colour powder. At the finish line, there’s a big ‘Colour Extravaganza’, where participants get to throw colour at friends and family.
Kate Faccenda from Colour5K says:
“Colour5K is one of the craziest fun runs and great to do with friends, family or colleagues. It’s suitable for all abilities and the perfect chance to have some fun while raising money for a worthy cause.”
Emma Haines, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Rainbow Trust says:
“We are really looking forward to working with Colour5K which is widely recognised for its fun and unique event. Rainbow Trust relies almost entirely on voluntary donations so events like this are vital in ensuring families get the support they need.”
Rainbow Trust has been chosen as the official charity of the event and participants will be given the opportunity to raise as much money as possible to help continue the support it provides. Runners have the option to donate when signing up or choose to fundraise for the event itself. The charity will also be there on the day to cheer on runners and hold a collection for anyone wishing to contribute.
