We asked Jordan Graham, Bob & Berts Marketing Manager, a few questions on why they chose to fundraise for Rainbow Trust this December.

Could you tell us a bit about your December fundraising campaign?

Each December, we run a month of Festive Fundraising for a great causes. In Lancaster, we are supporting the Rainbow Trust. We've got collection cans, staff competitions, and a £1 optional donation at the till for customers - and we're hoping to raise over £1,000 for this fantastic organisation!

Why did you choose to support Rainbow Trust?

We know that we are uniquely positioned as a pillar of the community in Lancaster, with exposure to hundreds of people daily. Bob & Berts has always prioritised positive community engagement, and partnering with the Rainbow Trust is a great example of that. We can use our exposure to the community in Lancaster to share about great causes - and Rainbow Trust was the perfect one for our Festive Fundraising! The team was very moved to hear about the incredible work that is done with children and their families facing massive challenges. If we can help, we always will.

What values do you think Rainbow Trust and Bob & Berts share?

In simple words, our company values are 'fun, dynamic, open and honest, prepared to go above and beyond'. I reckon these are reflected in Rainbow Trust too! Dealing with the ramifications of life-limiting illness is tough, but it's been amazing to find out what Rainbow Trust does. Through hosting fun family activities to bring back some smiles, practical and emotional support, and doing whatever it takes to offer support, the same values that we prioritise at our company core can be seen so clearly. It's truly wonderful.

What would you say to other businesses thinking about supporting a charity through their products or services?

I believe that supporting charitable endeavours should be a central part of business focus. You can curate a company culture of generosity, fun, and social responsibility - all whilst supporting the people who need it most.

Finally, what is your favourite item on your menu and why?

Wow, where do I even begin? I might have to give two answers - one from our all day breakfast menu and another from the rest! For breakfast, my go-to is the Bob & Berts Spud Stack. It's become an icon at home in Northern Ireland! Sausages, bacon, egg, with three pieces of handmade potato bread separating the layers. It's perfection. For lunch, I'd recommend anything from the Loaded Fries menu! I normally go for the Halloumi Loaded Fries, served with chilli sauce, sautéed peppers and onions, and a crispy-edged fried egg on top.
