Fundraising and streaming tips

1. Set clear fundraising goals

These will help to motivate you, and your supporters, allowing you to see how you are progressing and giving you something to aim for.

2. Promote your fundraising

It is best to share and promote your fundraising in advance and often. You can use social media, send messages, spread work of mouth.

3. Engage your audience

During the stream, thank your donors by name, respond to the chat, and use donation-driven actions.

4. Make donating easy

Keep donation links visible in your stream overlay and chat by using Tiltify. Using Tiltify will also help you to feel confident while fundraising.

5. Vary content

Mix gameplay with responding to the chat, breaks, Q&As, or talking about Rainbow Trust’s impact to keep content fresh.

6. Thank donors post-stream

Thank donors after the stream ends. Share how much you raised and how this will help seriously ill children and their families, showing your donors the impact of their support.

Wellbeing tips

Gaming is a fun way to raise money, however, don't forget to take care of yourself. Here are some wellbeing tips to keep in mind:

1. Take regular breaks

Your challenge does not need to take place all at once, it is important to schedule breaks to stay focused and refreshed.

2. Fuel your body

Make sure you stay hydrated and have snacks on hand.

3. Move around

Remember to get up, stretch and move regularly. This helps reset your mind and prevents stiffness in your body from sitting too long.

4. Take note of how you are feeling

If you are feeling unwell, stressed or unhappy, stop gaming. It is important to stop your challenge if you are not feeling right.

5. Ensure you are well rested

Make sure you get plenty of sleep the day before so you have the energy to give it your best shot.

Stay safe online

Make sure you never share your personal details on your stream and choose your privacy settings to control who can interact with you. If you do need to report any inappropriate behaviour, please do so directly via the streaming platform you’re using.
