Gaming for Rainbow Trust guidelines

Gaming and livestreaming are great ways to fundraise to help ensure seriously ill children and their families receive support they need from a Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker.

To help make your fundraising experience with Rainbow Trust enjoyable and safe, please take a moment to read and agree to these guidelines. They’re here to protect you, your viewers, and our community online.

Our guidelines

1. Under 18s must be supervised by an adult

You must be 18 years old or over to livestream on your own. Under 18s may participate only if under direct supervision of an adult for the duration of the livestream and all additional fundraising activity.

2. Uphold our values

At Rainbow Trust, we strive to treat everyone with fairness and compassion. This includes the seriously ill children and families we support, our supporters, volunteers, and anyone else involved in the charity. We expect anyone involved in fundraising for Rainbow Trust to uphold these values too, and to agree not to bring Rainbow Trust’s reputation into disrepute. Therefore, we ask that you do not:

  • Use or promote language or content that is discriminatory, harmful, or inappropriate.
  • Use explicit visuals that are profane, sexual, or bigoted in nature; or illicit substances or paraphernalia.
  • Stream games with crude or inappropriate content, and games that involve gambling or violent behaviour and/or an ESBR rating of “Adults Only.”
  • Become intoxicated before or during the stream.

3. Stay safe online

Remember not to share any personal or sensitive information such as your address, email address, phone number or any financial details or passwords. Ensure that you direct all fundraising for Rainbow Trust to your official fundraising page. Please report any inappropriate behaviour (advice from Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, X and Meta).

4. Prioritise your well-being

Fundraising should be fun, not exhausting, and it can be easy to lose track of time while gaming or streaming. Make sure you schedule regular breaks, drink plenty of water and get some fresh air. If at any point you feel stressed or annoyed, take a break from screens.

What if I don’t agree with your guidelines?

The safety and well-being of our supporters and the families we support is our priority. If you feel unable to agree to these guidelines, we kindly ask that you consider supporting Rainbow Trust in another way. There are many meaningful ways to support us beyond streaming.
