Sri Lanka: The Knuckles & the Pekoe Path 2027

Experience the beauty, culture and adventure of Sri Lanka with Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity on this unforgettable overseas trekking challenge.

This incredible nine-day adventure takes you deep into Sri Lanka’s breathtaking highlands, where you’ll trek through lush tea plantations, remote mountain villages, forest trails and spectacular landscapes while raising vital funds to support families caring for a seriously ill child. The challenge combines iconic cultural landmarks with some of the country’s most rewarding trekking routes, including the famous Pekoe Trail and the stunning Knuckles Mountain Range.

About the Challenge

Your journey begins with a visit to the world-famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising dramatically above the Sri Lankan jungle. From there, you’ll head into the remote Knuckles Mountain Range, one of the country’s most scenic and biodiverse regions, trekking through forests, rice terraces, waterfalls and traditional rural communities.

A major highlight of the challenge is trekking part of Sri Lanka’s renowned Pekoe Trail — a spectacular long-distance hiking route winding through the island’s tea country. Along the way, you’ll visit a working tea plantation and factory to learn about the production of world-famous Ceylon tea.

After completing your trekking adventure, you’ll have time to relax and celebrate your achievement on the beautiful coastline of Negombo beside the Indian Ocean.
