The Rainbow Trust Online Auction has now closed!
Our online auction concluded with an online event on 12 November, with a live auction hosted by BBC personality Charlie Ross. There were some fantastic lots including, fine wine, work experience, luxury fashion items, holidays and experiences, the proceeds of which will fund vital support to families with a seriously ill child.
We are delighted that thanks to our generous supporters this event has raised over £180,000!
The crisis is far from over for families supported by Rainbow Trust. Many families caring for a seriously ill child feel even more isolated and forgotten. These families remain anxious - some facing a worse situation than they were in before.
We are concerned about the lasting ripple effect that will be left with them for years to come. We are offering virtual emotional support, as well as socially distanced contact with children outdoors, socially distanced contact with parents out of doors, and in certain circumstances, support in the family home if possible. For those continuing to shield or self-isolate, Family Support Workers will continue to carry out vital practical tasks such as shopping and medication collection to support these most vulnerable families in the way they need it most.
Although it will not be possible to see every family face to face, Family Support workers will remain in contact by phone or text to ensure that all families have a regular welfare check in and to offer any help appropriate.
It is only thanks to our generous supporters that we can continue to deliver this critical support, your support of this event will mean we can continue to respond to the evolving need and adapt our service to help seriously ill children and their families in crisis.
