Special Christmas memories for sick children 10,000 families in England have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. Many are young parents, some single mothers, others disabled or in the armed forces; all are struggling to cope and would benefit from the help of Rainbow Trust. We can currently only reach 10%.
These families face the unthinkable that this Christmas could be the last they spend with their sick Child. Give them the support of a Rainbow Trust Family support Worker so they can have some wonderful Christmas memories to share together this Christmas.
Fraser was just 6 months old when he was diagnosed with 12 cancerous tumours. His family were devastated. Rainbow Trust gave them the emotional and practical support they needed to see them through two very difficult Christmases.
‘Fraser was in hospital for 6 months initially. I was living by his bedside during the week and my husband Gavin was there at weekends. I felt guilty being away from my other son Oscar too. Rainbow Trust was by my side, giving me tremendous emotional support when I couldn’t cope. I’ll be forever grateful for that.’ Sam Blake, Fraser’s mum.
Rainbow Trust plans to give 2,000 hours of support to 280 sick children and their families over the next few weeks.
