What's it all about?
If you have ever wanted to do an exhilarating challenge for charity here is your chance. Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity are looking for adventurous participants to trek in the Lares region of Peru on a trail that will undoubtedly give you a true insight into Peruvian life!
Immerse yourself in ancient Peruvian culture and experience diverse scenery such as tropical Andean rainforests, the snow capped mountain ranges of the Andes and of course Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most important archaeological finds.
DAY 1:
Fly London - Lima, overnight in Lima
DAY 2:
Fly Lima - Cusco. Time to acclimatise in Cusco
DAY 3:
Tambo Machay acclimatisation walk
Day 4:
Cusco to Lares then on to Kunkani, start walking 3650m
Day 5:
Kunkani to Cruzcasa on to Chacchapata, climb to 4200m
Day 6:
Chaccchapata up to Hatun Paso across to Yanahuara Alto, walk up to 4600m
Day 7:
Yanahuara Alto trekking to Aguas Calientes and Machupicchu
DAY 8:
Aguas Calientes - Cusco. Free afternoon
DAY 9:
Cusco - Lima - UK
DAY 10:
Arrive London
How do I sign up?
To take part in this challenge we ask participants to pay a registration fee of £399 and aim to raise a minimum of £3,750 in sponsorship.
There is also a self funding option where you pay the cost of the trip £2,375 and then raise what you wish in sponsorship.
