Volunteers help raise money over the Christmas period

Various events keep our volunteers busy over the fun festive period!

Rainbow volunteers were out in force over Christmas shaking buckets, wrapping presents and raising awareness during what was a very busy festive period.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that helped at our present wrapping service in the Friary Centre, Guildford and at the amazing vintage bus tour of the London Christmas Lights on 12 December.

Christmas Wrapping

We were very happy to see old and new faces at this year’s present wrapping service in Guildford where we raised £1,319 by offering to wrap gifts for shoppers in the Friary Centre in the lead up to Christmas.

We were joined by an army of volunteers who gave their valuable time to help wrap, so a huge thank you to everyone involved. We were lucky enough to have some excellent quality paper, ribbons and tags donated by Northbrook Fundraising who support us regularly through their website. Thanks must also go to the staff at the Friary Centre for allowing us to offer this service to their shoppers.

Vintage Bus Tour

Rainbow Trust would like to say a huge thank you to The Self Preservation Society for inviting us to to join them on their vintage bus tour of the Christmas Lights in London. Rainbow volunteers and families made their way up to London where we joined a convoy of 16 vintage buses.

Half way through the tour the buses stopped for a short break enabling Rainbow Trust to hold a cash collection. This year we were fortunate to have Bungle, Zippy and George to rattle the buckets, which caused a lot of laughter and I'm sure helped with the wallet emptying. A fantastic £1,000 was raised.

The Self Preservation Society have been supporting Rainbow Trust since 2004, this recent collection brings their total to an amazing £5,168.03
