What's it all about?
Last week, Rainbow Trust hosted it’s inaugural ‘Celebrity Sports Quiz’ at the magnificent Emirates Stadium. 180 guests joined us on the evening for reception drinks overlooking the pitch and a delicious two course dinner before competing ‘table to table’ in the ultimate sports quiz. With sound and picture rounds, true or false questions and a blockbusters style quiz, everybody’s sporting knowledge was put to the test.
Sports celebrities share their expertise with guests
TV presenter Matt Lorenzo hosted the evening and a team of celebrities were on hand to share their sporting expertise with the guests, including rugby hero Jason Leonard, cricketing legends Mike Gatting, David Graveney, Simon Jones and Gladstone Small, ex Arsenal football star Colin Hill and TV presenter and personality Jonny Gould.
The Nash family share their experience of Rainbow Trust support
Lee and Louise Nash, a family supported by Rainbow Trust since 2005, shared their experiences of having a very sick son and spoke openly about the amazing support that they have received over the years from their Family Support Worker, Anna.
Great prizes and sporting memorabillia
The Silent Auction and the Live Auction gave guests the opportunity to bid for a fantastic array of prizes and exclusive sporting memorabillia, including a five week adventure bootcamp with double Olympic champion Daley Thompson, a cookery master class and a week long stay at a beautiful cottage in Bordeaux.
A great success
The event raised £21,000 and we’d like to thank everybody who helped to make it such a success: Lee and Louise Nash, Matt Lorenzo, Danny Shurety, Quiz Quiz Quiz, the PCA, all our generous prize donors and of course, our sporting heroes.
