Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity is delighted to be selected as one of three charities for this year’s Independent Newspaper Christmas Appeal.
The appeal launched on Monday, 5th December 2011 and runs through until early January 2012.
The Independent will feature stories about our work and the impact we make which will be published in the Independent, the I-newspaper and on the Independent’s website throughout the campaign. The Appeal will also feature work of the other benefiting charities, The Children’s Society and Save the Children.
Look out for articles featuring families we support, like the Rowe family featuring on Wednesday 7th December, whose son Lewis has the same congenital condition that their daughter Megan died of. There will be stories of hope, of health and the invaluable support Rainbow Trust offers in the most desperate of times as families face bereavement, long term illness, life as a single parent and the possibility of spending a last Christmas with their child.
As part of the appeal The Independent will be running an auction on Ebay. Items auctioned will include services from Independent writers and 'money can't buy' opportunities to meet the celebrity supporters of all three charities.
The Independent says: We don’t just want you to donate money. We also want to let you know more about the important work these organisations are doing to help a group which is the most vulnerable in any society. At a time when most of us will be showering our children with love and presents, it is salutary to remember that children are among those suffering the most from severe poverty, serious illness, abuse or neglect”
If you miss any of our stories in the paper, then you can find them on the Independent’s Christmas Appeal website.
By making a donation you will help some of the most vulnerable children both here in the UK and abroad.
