Joanna Lumley speaks at our London Carol Concert
London Carol Concert raises £40,000
A first for Rainbow Trust was the London Carol Concert that took place in St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden. The evening was a great success raising £40,000 and plans are underway to host an even bigger carol concert this December.
Absolutely fantastic
As St Paul’s is known as the Actors Church it seemed only fitting to have our patron Julian Fellowes DL host the evening. We were also very lucky to be entertained by Geoffrey Palmer OBE and Joanna Lumley OBE who gave festive and amusing readings.
The music on the night created an atmosphere like no other. Eight-strong choir EL8 performed some delightful carols, and the congregation were also entertained by a sax and guitar rendition of The First Noel by Chris White and Polly Wood.
Somewhere over the Rainbow and Ave Maria were sang beautifully by child star Connie Talbot…. the perfect end to a magical evening.
We hope to see you again at one of Rainbow Trust's Carol Concerts in December 2010.
