Chris Jones
Rugby union player Chris has been a mainstay of the Sale Sharks since 2001, when he was plucked from university to join the team. Whilst a member of the Sharks, Chris has also played for England, gaining his first full international cap in the 2004 Six Nations, where he scored a try against Italy. Chris was awarded Player of the year for Sale Sharks in 2006, the year Sale won the premiership and again in 2008.
The 2010-2011 season is Chris Jones’ testimonial year, and he has chosen Rainbow Trust as one of his beneficiary charities.
Lewis Moody and Geordan Murphy
Lewis Moody and Geordan Murphy held a joint testimonial in 2008/9, and Rainbow Trust was one of their chosen charities.
Lewis Moody is an English international rugby player who was part of the 2003 World Cup winning side. He is affectionately known as Lewis "Mad Dog" Moody and has played for Leicester Tigers since 1996. He has also gained 53 caps for England and 2 caps for the British and Irish Lions.
Geordan Murphy is an Irish rugby player who has played for Leicester Tigers since 1997. He has gained 63 caps for Ireland and 1 cap for the British and Irish Lions. He was a member of the Ireland team that won the 2009 Six Nations Championship.
Matt Walker
Matt was one of Kent’s most consistent cricket players, playing 15 seasons for them. They awarded him a benefit year in 2008, and we were delighted that Matt chose to support Rainbow Trust. Matt’s cricket career continues, and he currently plays for Essex.
Austin Healey
Austin played rugby for the Leicester Tigers, and has represented England and the British Lions. Oz held his testimonial year in 2006/2007, and chose Rainbow Trust as one of his charities. Austin has continued his support of Rainbow Trust by becoming one of our patrons.
