Internship: Fundraising Intern

Main point of contact: Kate Dring, Regional Fundraising & Development Manager

Duration: 12 weeks, part-time (2-3 days per week)

Location: Manchester

Main duties and responsibilities:

1)Research and develop new event opportunities and assist the Regional Fundraising & Development Manager with current event projects during the internship.

2)Carry out administrative duties involved in the course of planning and implementing events, including typing correspondence, sending out fundraising packs, certificates, and maintaining an efficient filing system.

3)Maintain and update the fundraising database, ensuring all individual records are accurate.

4)Work with Regional Fundraising & Development Manager and the care team to develop gifts in kind (non financial gifts) programme, ensuring items are distributed to Rainbow Trust families.

5)Deal with telephone and email enquiries and take action as necessary.

6)Research and develop marketing opportunities and assist the Regional Fundraising & Development Manager with raising the profile of Rainbow Trust in the north west.

Desirable qualities:

IT literate (Microsoft Office, Internet, Outlook)

Good organisational and communication skills

Good project management skills

The ability to prioritise workload and be flexible if necessary

The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Confident and polite telephone manner

What you can expect from the role:

When required:

1 day a week minimum from Monday to Friday for 12 weeks between January 2013 and May 2013.

This position is unpaid but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The exact start date and the days to be worked per week are negotiable depending upon personal circumstances.
